Burton Albion are expecting Winger Jaques Maghoma to be leaving the club.

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has identified the 25 year as one of his targets if the transfer embargo is lifted and City actually get any money for players under the new Financial Fair Play rules, as have a number of clubs including some at Championship level.

Speaking to BBC Radio Derby, Burton boss Gary Rowett said: "It's futile trying to entice him to stay. "I think his future lies elsewhere so good luck to him.

"There's absolutely no point sitting down with him because his intention is to further his career and move on. He has some good options and money-wise I am sure it will be three or four times what we could offer him.

"We always felt this would be Jacques' season and that's how it turned out,

"Everyone is looking for gem. He has proved he has the ability. The way Jacques plays will catch the eye. He has not been proved at the higher level but as a free transfer he will be highly sought after."
