Cardiff City, one time favourites to sign Coventry City's 25 year old defender Richard Keogh, have apparently pulled out of the chase.
Derby County have had an offer for Keogh accepted, but any deal is down to the player. The Rams have reportedly offered Keogh £12,000 a week, but Cardiff are not interested in entering into a bidding war and so have pulled out of the chase.
Derby and Cardiff are both thought to have offered a similar amount of money for Keogh who has a year left on his Coventry City contract, but it is thought that Derby have offered a cash plus player on a year long loan deal with the option to sign a permanent deal.
With Cardiff out of the hunt, Derby still have to fend off interest from Bristol City and Leeds United.
