The reported move of Louis Carey back to his native Bristol City is now dependent on whether City will demand a fee for the right back who now seems surplus to requirements following the loan signing of Richard Duffy for three months.
Bristol City Chairman Steve Lansdown refused to speculate on a move for Carey but said: "A lot depends on individual circumstances and while I'm not ruling out paying a fee for a player before the season is out, I'm not expecting to do so. We have a full-strength squad right now and the quality is there.
"As usual, if someone becomes available and we feel he will benefit us, then we'll look hard at it."
