Notts County Chairman Ray Trew has praised Roy Carroll for dashing back to play for the Magpies against Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena.
Carroll, played last night for Michael O'Neill's Northern Ireland in a 2-0 defeat in Romania but got back to Heathrow at 10am and drove up to Coventry in order to play for his side who took a 1-0 win.
Chairman Ray Trew said about this to Notts County's website: "I can’t praise Roy highly enough today, what he did went well above the call of duty, but epitomised everything that is right about Notts County at the moment.
"Shaun Derry spoke of his desire to get the right sorts of player in this season and I think what Roy has done for this club today shows exactly what the Manager meant. "These guys have put their bodies on the line and challenged for every ball in every match this season and we have reaped the rewards, so whilst I would like to praise every player who took to the field this afternoon, I have to reserve special praise for Roy because I know what it meant to me, but more so I know what it meant to our supporters and he has my heartfelt thanks for what he has done."
