Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has stated that any deal for West Bromwich defender Leon Barnett will be a cash only deal.
There had been considerable speculation that a deal involving Leon Barnett plus cash in exchange for soon to be out of contract striker Leon Best, but Coleman has now ruled that idea out.
Coleman said, "There was early talk of that but now we are just looking to do a straight deal for Barnett with nothing else in the equation. We are trying to keep both Gary Madine and Leon Barnett although we are running out of time. But the chairman is on the case. A lot of business happens in the last few days but we want to do it as quick as we can."
Leon Barnett's loan spell at the Ricoh ends on 28th January when he will return to the Hawthorns. He will be eligible to play in City's next game at Swansea.
