92% of football supporters who are registered with the football research organisation - The Football Fans Census have called for the introduction of safe standing areas at football grounds in England and Wales.

The census which has over 100,000 registered member/users, felt that the clubs should have control as to whether they allowed safe standing and in what areas.

It was also expressed that attendances could improve with safety not compromised and MP's supporting the introduction of safe standing areas were more likely to get supporters votes.
