Coventry City played out an entertaining goalless draw with promotion chasing Reading today at The Ricoh. The point leaves City in 17th place on 54 points and Reading stay are in 5th with 74 points.
Elsewhere QPR confirmed their promotion as champions to the Premier league with a 0-2 win at Watford.
Second and third placed Norwich and Cardiff did not have a game today, but Swansea kept their play off hopes alive at the expense of Millwall with a 0-2 win at The New Den and have ended any chance Millwall had of making the playoffs.
Nottingham Forest thrashed Scunthorpe 5-1 to take the sixth play off place ahead of Leeds, who beat Burnley 1-0.
Scunthorpe are relegated and so are Sheffield United who drew 2-2 with Barnsley, but even a win would have meant relegation for the Blades, who are now managed by former Coventry City manager Mickey Adams as Doncaster and Crystal Palace both drew and the point that each earned meant they were safe from relegation. Doncaster drew 1-1 with Leicester and Palace drew 1-1 at Hull.
Derby lost 0-2 to Bristol City making it a miserable last professional game for Robbie Savage.
Finally Ipswich beat already relegated Preston 2-1.
