According to the BBC's Nick Clitheroe, the changing of manager at Nottingham Forest has thwarted Coventry City's attempts to sign David McGoldrick.
City had spoken to Forest and McGoldrick's agent about the possibility of signing the striker who has six months left on his current deal at the City Ground and is reportedly wanted by a number of clubs who are understood to be offering £15k a week and three year deals.
Clitheroe has tweeted: "Coventry City say change of manager at Nottingham Forest has created uncertainty around attempt to sign David McGoldrick permanently
"Coventry have been in talks with Forest and player's agent but other clubs interested too. Final game of loan spell tomorrow."
