Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that bringing about a change in the culture at the club has been the highlight of his first year in charge.
Speaking to Andy Turner of the Coventry Telegraph, Pressley said: “I have seen a change in the culture at the football club and I have seen a group of young players who are hungry to improve.
“I thought that Wednesday’s game very much typified the type of energy and desire to win that we’ve tried to create at the club, and I have seen it many times this season.
“I have seen definite improvements in a lot of areas of the club; many areas that I don’t think the supporters generally see. There is a far greater connection between our Academy, Under-18s and the first team and these are important aspects in terms of the rebuilding of the club.
“I feel we are making strides and that’s satisfying. It’s about remaining focused in what we’re trying to do even when you go through an indifferent period as we have recently. And I think when we get to the summer we will see the next stage of our development again.
“It’s going to take time but any manager in the modern game needs a long time, so I am delighted I have managed to do a year. There has been a lot of restructuring and now we are slowly but surely starting to rebuild the football club again.”
