Said Jay Tabb to the CT on behalf of the players: "I think that Iain Dowie should get a good reception from our fans because he didn't do anything wrong while he was here," said fans favourite Jay Tabb.
"We had some great performances under him and he was in charge during a tough time for the club. "We didn't get paid for a week after we should have been three months in a row and he had no money to spend but did a good job.
"Although Iain has gone on to another club, he should get a really good reception for what he did here. "But we have got another excellent manager now and it is up to us to do him proud on Saturday."
Iain Dowie joined City on the promise of £7m for players, when it never materialised,he used his resources. This included reuniting the players after Micky Adams had left the camp with a massive divide and bringing in an ethos which made the players from the first team down to the Academy feel part of the club.
At the start of last season, he had got the best out of his players who were top of the league for five weeks and came up with some excellent away victories including aways wins at promoted Stoke, his current QPR club and at West Brom.
This came alongside a never to be forgotton night at Manchester United,a battling performance at home to West Ham before Premier League Blackburn Rovers were well and truly stuffed on their own ground.
Dowie had been linked with the Leicester job on numerous occasions but when Ray Ranson and his SISU financiers took over the club, his days were numbered.
Like everyone else, all at Covsupport News Service be giving Iain,Tim and John a cheer before and after the game and urge you to do the same.
