Coventry City supporters will face a trip to Chesterfield FC next season.
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, the Spireittes fielded former Coventry City keeper Joe Murphy in goal for the second leg at Preston North End.
Jermaine Beckford put Preston two goals clear with a goal in the 38th minute and in the 62nd minute, Joe Garner scored from a penalty in front of a crowd of 15,641 with 1,628 away fans.
Beckford scored his second goal of the game and his third in the Play-Off Semi-Finals in the 87th minute as Preston moved to the Wembley final with a 3-0 victory.
