Former Coventry City player Chris Hussey has signed for Cheltenham Town subject to completion of a medical.
The 29 year old defender made 58 appearances for City after joining initially on loan from AFC Wimbledon in 2009.
The Londoner has played for played for AFC Wimbledon, Burton Albion, Bury, Sheffield United and Swindon Town, unless his loan was cancelled following an incident which saw his time at Sheffield United ended.
Hussey, who will team up with former City midfielder Conor Thomas at Whaddon Road, has signed a two year deal and told Cheltanham's club website:“It’s a new challenge for me.
“The club has shown a lot of ambition with the signings that have been made and it’s exciting to be a part of that.
“I was promoted with Bury and again with Sheffield United a few seasons ago. I’m hoping to make it three with the Robins.
“I know Pete Johnson very well, since I was about 16 or 17 when he used to manage my Academy team, and I’ve spoken to the gaffer a lot about his plans and ambition. He knows what it takes to get promoted and is putting his plans in place.
“I live locally already so it’s a great move for me and I can’t wait for pre-season to start and to get the jersey on for my new club.”
