The sun is shining and with 20 minutes to go before the kick off at Liberty Way, there are about 300 Coventry fans in the ground already.

Subsitute for City Aaron Phillips is the son of Dave Phillips who was an FA Cup winner with Coventry in 1987.

Two of the Coventry City fans are none other than Joe Elliott and Gary Hoffman.

There are two ex Sky Blues in the Nuneaton starting line up Mark Noon and Adam Walker.
 
A little over five minutes now until the kick off, but the wind has got up and is now swirling around the ground.
 
There may be a couple of reasons why the attendance is a little lower than it could have been. There is a beer festival going on next to the ground which might be detaining a few would be fans. The admission price is also much higher than the rest of Nuneaton's home pre-season games.
 
The City fans are entertaining themselves by singing the Sky Blue song and Take me home to Highfield Road.  
 
The game is underway and is being refereed by Eddie Smart. City are wearing their green and black away kit and are attacking the Nuneaton End.
 
Less than two minutes into the game and the City support are singing Sack the Board!
 
City are playing the diamond formation that worked well at the end of last season.
 
Clingan is playing in front of Cranie, Keogh and Christie.
 
Six minutes gone and City get their first chance. McSheffrey gets in a good cross for Jukiewicz, but he is adjudged to have pushed the defender and Nuneaton get a free kick.
 
Baker over hits his deep cross from the right wing and the ball goes out of play for a goal kick.
 
With nearly 15 minutes gone, City are passing the ball well, but the score is still 0-0.
 
Clingan has a curling shot from a throw in which crashes back off the cross bar and is cleared by the Nuneaton defence.
 
City strikers Eastwood and Jutkiewicz are combining well, but are yet are to be rewarded for their efforts.
 
Hussey, Bell and Clingan are playing some neat football and combining well together.
 
Half way through the fist half and the weather is deteriorating. Black clouds over Liberty Way and the wind is increasing. Looks as if rain is on the way.
 
Thorn and Harrison are getting animated on the touchline.
 
Eastwood gets in a good cross, but Jutkiewicz can't quite get the decisive touch and the ball is cleared.
 
Thunderstorm errupts and the rain has sent some fans scurrying for the shelter at the back of the stand.
 
Nuneaton get their first shot at goal. In the 26th minute Belcher has a 20 yard shot deflected for a corner, which Armson fires over the bar.
 
Someone has lit a sky blue coloured flare in the away end as the City fans sing The Sky Blue Song.
 
Goal; Nuneaton take the lead on 29 minutes though a Lee Smith low shot from the edge of the area.
 
City respond to going behind, but two minutes after the Nuneaton goal Jutkiwicz fires his shot over the bar.
 
McSheffrey gets a good pass from Eastwood and puts the ball into the net after rounding Alcock in the Nuneaton goal, but it is disallowed for offside.
 
Former Sky Blue Adam Walker sees his shot pushed away by Murphy for a corner.
 
Baker has his shot well saved and a few seconds later Hussey has his shot fumbled by Alcock, but the ball only goes out for a City corner which came to nothing.
 
Two minutes before the scheduled halftime break and Nuneaton get another corner which Hussey deals easily with and heads the ball clear.

Andy Thorn make nine changes at half time with only Christie and Hussey  staying on.
 
13 seconds into the seciond half and Roy O'Donovan hits a good shot into the side netting. A minute later and City win a corner which Jeffers fires straight across the face of goal.
 
Six minutes into the half and City get another corner, this time  it is taken by Academy player Gael Birgirmana. Jeffers connects well with his head, but it goes wide.
 
Nuneaton make just two outfield changes at half time plus a change of goal keeper.
 
City substitution, Arron Phillips is on for Chris Hussey.
 
Dunn, in the City goal has a poor goal kick, and the ball goes straight to a Nuneaton striker, but fortunately for him the ball goes out for another goal kick.
 
Now that the new look Coventry City second half team have settled down a bit they are looking more attack minded.
 
Phillips and Jeffers are combining well together and Phillips has a curling shot go just wide of the target in the 59th minute.
 
O'Donovan picks out Josh Ruffles who blasts over the bar from 20 yards out in the 62nd minute.
 
Free kick to City after a trip on Wilson.
 
Gael Birgirmana gets in a swinging cross that is palmed away for a City corner by Taylor in the Town goal.
 
 Goal; O'Donovan receives the ball from Thomas and thumps the ball home from the edge of the area. Nuneaton 1 Coventry City 1.
 
O'Donovan, the forgotten striker at Coventry has another shot at goal, but this time he fires over the bar.
 
There is one banner in the away end demanding Sisu Out.
 
City are causing trouble now for the Nuneaton defence. In the 77th minute  a good cross from Jeffers causes panic in Town's defence, but the ball is eventually cleared.
 
Young Arron Phillips has a shot but blazes over the bar in the 78th minute.
 
The attendance has been given as 1440 of which 450 are City fans.
 
84 minutes gone and Nuneaton relieve the pressure a little an win themselves a corner.
 
Goal; O'Donovan again! With two minutes remaing  of normal time O'Donovan  gets himself ontot he end of Thomas through ball and cut inside to unleash a low drive into the net.
 
Nuneaton 1 Coventry City 2.
 
Goal; With the last attack of the game Nuneaton make a break and Danny Glover strkes a low drive which beats Chris Dunn to make it 2-2.
