Coventry City skipper Stephen Wright and the club, will learn tomorrow, the length of ban he will receive following his sending off at QPR on Saturday.
Wright has been charged with improper conduct after he threw his armband in frustration at being given a second yellow, it hit referee Mike Jones on the back.
Wright had until 6pm yesterday to answer the charge and has until 6pm today to submit any evidence if he wishes to contest it.
Wright's case will be heard tomorrow (Friday) and a decision will be made as to his punishment. He would normally expect a one match ban for being sent off for two cautions in the game against QPR, but the extra charge of improper conduct could see another three games added making him miss four games.
Coventry City manager Chris Coleman is hoping for leniency, he told the Coventry Telegraph, “There has been a lot of talk about how many games he might get and we have just got to hope and pray. We didn’t feel the tackle was a bad tackle and didn’t warrant a yellow card. All right it was from behind, but it wasn’t nasty or anything like that."
“My point is that if he hadn’t already got a yellow card I don’t think he would have got the other booking because I think the referee reacted to how the fans reacted, along with their bench and players. As for the reaction after that from Stephen, it is just not like him to do something like that and I don’t know what the outcome is going to be."
"We can only hope and pray that it is not too severe because the last thing we need is a lengthy suspension.”
