As expected, Coventry City were given an away game so not to clash with a planned mass by Pope Benedict XV1 on September 19th.

It is understood that local authorities contacted the Football League to ask that the Sky Blues be given an away game on the weekend of September 18th/19th, in case the planned papal tour does come to Coventry Airport.

The Football League responded by giving City an away game at Bristol City in the fixtures which were announced last Thursday.

Whether the Mass will go ahead at Baginton is still be be officially confirmed but an official booklet for the Pope's visit to the UK is listing Coventry as the final venue for the tour, rather than Longbridge.
