Coventry City are also reported as bidding £1m for Cardiff central defender Glenn Loovens.

Once sent off against City (Mind you,Graham Poll was the referee), The 24 year old made nine plus five sub appearances for Dutch giants Feyenoord before joining Cardiff in 2005. He has made 110 plus one sub appearances for the Bluebirds.

Wales Online believe Coventry City to be one of the two Championship clubs who have shown an interest in the Dutchman and Cardiff Chairman Peter Ridsdale said: We have offered Glenn a three-year deal, he has not signed it yet and it could be a situation which might run for a while.

"We have had interest from two other clubs in the Championship, but Glenn would not entertain that. He says he will not play for any other Championship side because he loves Cardiff City too much. "I think Glenn is a very good player and I want him to stay, but, if there is an offer Glenn feels is too good to turn down and which we feel is too good to refuse, then things do change.
