Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he is looking at a left back from a Premier League club on loan.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph about a player which will provide competition for both Chris Stokes and Ryan Haynes, Mowbray said: “I have told them both that there might be an opportunity for us to get a young Premier League left-back on loan who is fast, has a great left foot, beats people, runs and is a mixture of the two of them really.
“I have told Stokes that we might mess around with shapes a little bit next year, might not just stick to one system because I thought the back three worked really well towards the end of the season the way we played it.
“We didn’t play it as a stereotypical 3-5-2, we spread the pitch a little bit more so Stokesy could play left centre-half in that system or as a left wing-back, and Ryan could be a left wing-back.”
