Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has hinted that he may tweak his 3-5-2 formation.
Pressley has been severely criticised by many City supporters for a formation which is not bringing in goals and speaking to Andy Turner of the Coventry Telegraph, Pressley said: “When the team isn’t getting results then I understand the supporters’ frustration and there is no doubt about it we’ll all be getting criticised at this moment in time.
“That’s football. Three or four weeks ago we were getting pats on the back so you have to accept it turns the other way very quickly.
“We work really hard on most aspects of our play but we need to recognise how we’re going to score goals and really focus on one area of how we’ll do that.
“We’ve analysed the statistics in terms of what opportunities we create and how we create them, but creating them and scoring them is what we need to do. From the creation of those chances, we have to turn that into goals and so we’ve been working on what we’re good at and converting that into goals by having a really clear idea of how we’re going to score.
“When I look at the statistics of the season so far we have to score more goals and I have to come up with a formula to help us do that. I’ve looked at aspects of our play and I think we need to make a couple of tweaks to get the results we’re looking for.
“I’m talking about subtle changes in the structure of how we play, not a major revamp, just subtle changes to allow us to create and score more goals.”
