Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has praised defenders Arron Martin and Jack Stephens.
Speaking about them to the Coventry Telegraph, the City boss said: “Yes, I was delighted because after the injuries to Reda Johnson and Ben Turner I’ve been moaning all season that we’ve lost our defensive headers, our big strong men.
“But Aaron is growing into becoming a big strong man and Jack is learning on his feet – a boy growing into a man.
“I don’t think he likes the way I shout at him every week and yet as I keep telling him in the quiet moments after games that it will only help his career.
“The bottom line is that if you want to be a centre-half for the next 10/15 years, whether you’re in the Premier League, League One or League Two, you’ve got to head the ball.
“That’s your job; however good you are at bringing the ball out of defence or knocking nice passes into midfield, you’ve got to be able to head it – if you don’t you won’t play because the managers won’t trust you.
“Millwall and Bradford presented similar threats because they are both direct, physically strong teams but we stood up to that to take six points from two very tough games and give our fans something to cheer after a difficult spell.”
