Darren Robinson, the fitness coach and sports scientist has been back at Coventry City for the last few weeks.
Robinson worked under Micky Adams and then Adrian Heath but then left when Iain Dowie came in and brought his own backroom staff.
He went onto work for Billy Davies at Derby County and Nottingham Forest and has returned to the club on a voluntary basis, to work with the City players, after being recommended by Steve Taylor.
Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Mark Robins said:“There are a lot of things that I want to put into place and he has the expertise and know-how to help me implement it quickly.
“He’s looking after the fitness side of things and ensuring we function better because we are doing work in the gym before training, then getting out on to the pitch and then doing more work after training before they have their food, so there’s a lot of things going on and the sports science side of things is something we need to have right.
“We’re a League One club and limited in what we can do at the minute and we’re coming into it mid-season, so things will progress and develop as time goes on.”
