The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's Championship fixture against Norwich City at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday is Chris Sarginson from Staffordshire.
City Debut For Sarginson
Chris took up refereeing fifteen years ago after he had played and been a secretary of a Sunday League club. He was appointed to the Select Group of Assistant Referees in 2005 and was appointed to the National List of Referees in 2008. He cites the Sunderland v Newcastle game in 2005 as the best game he has officiated at due to the atmosphere.
This will be his fourth Championship game this season (and seventh of his career) and he was in charge of Norwich's 1-0 win at Scunthorpe. In total, Mr Sarginson has had 14 matches so far this season, where he has shown 45 yellow cards and one red.
Mr Sarginson has not refereed a City first team match before.
His assistants are Steve Cook from Derbyshire & John Farries from Oxfordshire. The Fourth Official is James Adcock from Nottinghamshire.
