Coventry City are down to 12th in the Championship table after the 27th minute abandonment meant that they got nothing from a premature game at Sheffield Wednesday.

Watford top the table by a point from West Brom who won 2-1 at Leicester with a late goal.

Third are Charlton Athletic who beat Ipswich 3-1 with Bristol City fourth, Stoke fifth and Wolves sixth.

Southampton, who are the Sky Blues next opponents, beat Hull 4-0 with former Sky Blue Stern John hitting a hat-trick.

Cardiff beat Colchester 4-1 with Jonnie Jackson scoring for the U's. Adam Virgo was also on the score sheet but his was a 70th minute own goal

Barnsley drew 0-0 with Palace, Plymouth drew 1-1 with Bristol City and Scunthorpe drew 2-2 with bottom side QPR whilst Norwich beat Sheff United 1-0 and Burnley won 3-2 at Wolves.

Colin Cameron and Lloyd Dyer (2) scored for MK Dons in a 5-0 win against Accrington.
