Coventry City are down to 17th in the Championship table despite an excellent one all draw at Leicester City.
The Sky Blues have dropped down the table with forty points from 33 matches after Bristol City beat third from bottom Scunthorpe who have 31 points 2-0 at Ashton Gate.
Derby County also caught up ground on Coventry with a 1-0 win at Micky Adams Sheffield United along with Doncaster Rovers who drew 1-1 with Watford who had former Sky Blue John Eustace sent off.
20th placed Middlesbrough lost 3-0 at home to QPR, whilst 21st placed Crystal Palace were held 3-3 by Reading.
Bottom side Preston were beaten in their local derby with Burnley 2-1 at Deepdale. Former City loanee Jack Cork got the winner.
At the other end of the table, second placed Swansea beat sixth placed Leeds 3-0, Cardiff won 2-0 at Hull City, fourth placed Norwich won 2-0 at Barnsley and fifth placed Forest were held 0-0 at Millwall,
Elsewhere, Portsmouth won 2-0 at Ipswich Town.
Callum Wilson played 85 minutes of Kettering's 2-0 win over Newport County.
