Coventry City are down to 20th in the League One table after Scunthorpe United won their first ever game in Coventry with a 2-1 defeat.
The 2-1 defeat, not without the help of referee Jeremy Simpson who awarded Scunthorpe a 41st minute penalty, amongst a stack of poor decisions, means that City are now just one place against the relegation zone and if they were to lose at bottom side Hartlepool, who lost 1-0 at Yeovil, next Saturday and Shrewsbury who lost 2-1 at Leyton Orient, Bury who beat Portsmouth 2-0 and Scunthorpe win their next game, City could drop to second bottom.
However, a win next week and Walsall who lost 2-0 at home to Swindon, Portsmouth and Oldham who were beaten 1-0 at at Boundary Park by divisional leaders Tranmere Rovers could move up to 16th.
Sheffield United stay second despite a 1-0 loss at MK Dons whilst Stevenage remain in third after a 4-1 home defeat by Preston.
Crawley's 1-1 draw with fifth placed Notts County keeps them fourth, whilst Brentford closed the gap on the top six with a 2-1 win over Carlisle.
The Bees stayed ahead of Doncaster who lost 1-0 to ever improving AFC Bournemouth whilst Crewe beat Colchester 3-2
