Burton Albion won 1-0 at Shrewsbury to go third, with fourth placed Gillingham drawing 1-1 at Peterborough United, fifth placed Rochdale beating Barnsley 3-0 and Chesterfield moving into sixth place with a 2-0 win at Millwall.
Coventry City can go second on Monday night if they beat Southend United at the Ricoh Arena in a game which kicks off at 7.45pm.
