The Sky Blues will be in the Southern half of the draw and will face one of the following clubs: Walsall,Colchester,MK Dons,Yeovil,Swansea,Southend, Torquay,Peterbrough,Northampton,Wycombe, Leyton Orient,Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham,Oxford,Notts County,Shrewsbury,Rushden or Barnet.
The tie will be played on either Tuesday August 22 or Wednesday August 23 and will be played to a finish on the night with extra time and/or penalties to decide the winner.
If City progress to the Second Round on September 20/21, they will go into the hat with the twelve Premiership teams not participating in an European competition.
