A Coventry City fan is considering plans to sue West Midlands Police after he was arrested and dragged from the East Stand during City's 2-0 win over Derby County last season for asking why a police officer did not have a visable number displayed on his uniform.
Mr Wynn won his case to over-turn his conviction for a three year banning order, with help from lawyers provided by the Football Supporters Association.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Martin Bagot, Mr Wynn said: “There wouldn’t have been a riot if the officer had stuck to force policy and Home Office guidelines by having his badge number on display.
“Then I wouldn’t have picked him up on it, he wouldn’t have nicked me and the fans wouldn’t have tried to stop me getting kicked out.
“That officer shouldn’t have been on duty and his commanding officer should have sent him home to get correctly dressed. That incident was purely the responsibility of West Midlands Police.
