City Finish One Place Higher Than Last Season

Coventry City finished one place higher that they than they did last season.

The Sky Blues, who completed their Championship league season with a splendid 2-2 draw at Norwich City finished, in eighteenth place because of Barnsley beating Millwall 1-0 at Oakwell.

Queens Park Rangers were crowned Championship Champions after news came through at 2pm that they were being fined rather than docked points after being found guilty on two of seven charges relating to the transfer of Alejandro Faurlín.

They were beaten 2-1 at Loftus Road by Leeds but that was not enough for the Elland Road club to make the play-offs as Nottingham Forest won 3-0 at Crystal Palace to finish sixth.

Swansea beat Sheffield United to finish third and set up a Play-Off game against Forest whilst Cardiff who had Craig Bellamy score, drew 1-1 at Burnley will play at Reading on Friday night after The Royals beat Derby 2-1 in Robbie Savage's final game.

Elsewhere Jon Stead scored for Bristol City in a 3-1 win over Hull City. Leicester beat Ipswich 4-2, Middlesbrough beat Doncaster 3-0, Preston beat Watford 3-1 and Scunthorpe who like Preston will play in League One next season, drew 1-1 with Peterborough.

Craig Reid scored for Stevenage past former Sky Blue Cameron Belford with a penalty in a 3-3 draw thats sets up Stevenage with a play-off semi-final against Accrington Stanley.

Julian Gray scored for Walsall in a 3-1 defeat at Southampton who are now promoted to the Championship.

Kevin Thornton scored for Northampton in a 2-1 win at Morecambe.
