City Form Partnership With Cov City Girls

Coventry City FC have announced a new partnership with Coventry City Girls FC
 
Coventry City Girls are an FA charter standard club which have seven teams, ranging from Under-10 to Under-18 who play in the Coventry & Warwickshire league and a first-team who play in the West Midlands League and who are based at Coventry Sphinx FC. 
 
SBitC Director Dave Busst said: "We're delighted to be able to form a new partnership with Coventry City Girls.
 
"Sky Blues in the Community have already got great links with the club as we've worked on various projects over the years to promote girls football in Coventry.
 
"It is a grassroots club who are dedicated to helping girls get into the game and we're looking forward to supporting them in any way possible in the future."
 
Iain Dixon, chair of CCGFC said: "We're delighted with our agreement to work in partnership with Coventry City FC.
 
“The ethos of Coventry City Girls FC is to encourage and develop participation in female football for players of all abilities, not just at an elite level, in a positive and supportive environment. 
 
"We believe that our partnership with Coventry City FC will be a positive step for the development of our club and for girls and women’s football in the area.”
 
CCFC Chief Executive Steve Waggott said: "Of course, we were disappointed to lose our association with Coventry City Ladies but we're really excited about the opportunities this partnership will present.
 
"With so much focus on the women's game, we're hoping this new partnership will encourage more girls to take up the sport across the city of Coventry, particularly at a grassroots level."
 
CCGFC player and coach Rheo Donnelly said: "As both a player and coach at Coventry City Girls FC, I'm really excited for the club to become an official partner of CCFC. Not only would it present a number of fantastic opportunities for both clubs, but personally there would be a sense of pride to represent the team I have always supported. 
 
"With us now the official team of CCFC, it will contribute further growth for females within the sport, specifically within Coventry area. 
 
"I cannot help but look forward to the forthcoming season as both clubs continue to grow and succeed together."
