Marton Fulop, who spent the 2005/6 season on loan at Coventry City and made 31 appearances, has been signed by Manchester City on an emergency loan until the end of the season.
Manchester City are without cover for either of their main goalkeepers though injury and only have the inexperienced Gunnar Nielsen of the Faeroe Islands available.
Former Coventry City striker Robbie Keane is wanted by another of his old clubs, Wolverhampton Wanderers. manager Mick McCarthy is poised to make a loan bid for the the Republic of Ireland international, but Spurs will probably want a permanent deal. It is thought they will want around £8m for the striker.
West Ham United have put Freddy Sears up for sale, in fact The Hammers have put their entire squad, except for Scott Parker on the transfer list. The striker is currently on loan at Coventry City.
West Ham co-owner David Sullivan said, "If we get the right bid we will sell any player, apart from Parker. He is Mr West Ham."
It is looking increasingly likely that Harry Redknap will not pursue his interest in Coventry City's goal keeper Keiren Westwood as he is about to table a bid for Genoa goalkeeper Marco Amelia.
Spurs had a late offer for Westwood turned down last January by City chairman Ray Ranson. Spurs have also been linked with goalkeepers Croatian Stipe Pletikosa currently playing for Spartak Moscow and Watford's Scott Loach.
Another form Coventry City loanee, goal keeper Kaspar Schmeichel has been released by Notts County and can leave on a free transfer. The club would like to be able to reatin his services, but cannot afford him at the moment.
Notts County's chief executive Jim Rodwell said, "Kasper has performed brilliantly all season and throughout all of the problems behind the scenes he has remained a consummate professional. We would have loved to have kept Kasper but financially that just wasn't possible."
