The duo put the players through a series of tests including beep tests on Tuesday to ensure that the players have the fitness levels needed to get them to the end of the season.
"We did some fitness tests on Tuesday and I think a few of the boys were thinking, hang on, it's March and there are only eight games to go," he said, "but there are a lot of points in those eight games and I am not having anyone thinking we just need a few more wins and we will be all right," said Chris Coleman to the CT.
"I don't want that attitude and they understand that. "I hated that sort of fitness work when I was a player because I was a big boy but it is what is needed.
"We have got through March and a lot of other people are winding down thinking they are fit anyway. "But, if anything, you need to push it a bit more.
"It was something that they didn't expect and their attitude to it was fantastic and all their levels are up, so we have got to keep pushing and raising the bar until that final whistle in that last game. "Then we can see if we have achieved what we set out to do.
"It is like a bleep test where they run 50 or 30 metres, then check back and have a ten-second rest, and see how many times they can do it.
"It is called a yo-yo test and we tested them all in the summer, and we have tested them again this week and they are all way, way ahead of their results in the summer and two or three - Aron Gunnarsson, Michael Doyle and Kevin Thornton - even ran the bloomin' tape out, and we are talking about a test that elite athletes take and don't do that."
