Coventry City manager Steven Pressley is hoping to sign Frank Nouble today.
Nouble has cancelled his contract with Ipwich and City have an offer in for the striker until the end of the season.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Pressley said: That’s good because we’ve been waiting on Frank sorting it out at that end.
“We put an offer to his agent and the player and I believe we had an agreement in place on that so I would hope we can conclude something with Frank in the next 24-48 hours.
“The initial deal will be until the end of the season. “I spoke to Frank on the phone on Monday night and said to him that he’s got four months of the season left and he needs to use that to prove to us that he’s got longevity at the club, and he seemed determined to do that.
“I think it’s a big four months in Frank Nouble’s career and I have said that to him. The next four months could define how his career works out. But he seems hungry and has shown a terrific attitude in recent weeks which I had asked for and, allied with his ability, I hope we have got a good player for the club in the short term and, possibly, longer term.”
