City In Right Back Search

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman is looking for a right back.

With number one choice Stephen Wright picking up a number of injuries last season, Chris Coleman has had to slot Aron Gunnarsson, Marcus Hall and Isaac Osbourne into that role.

He is now looking for a permanent right back and told the CT: "Unfortunately, Wrighty had no chance of featuring in the last month to six weeks of the season. "He played fewer than 25 games last season but when he was on the pitch the percentage of those games we won was really high, so it is a question of keeping him fit."

Coleman went on to say: "Wrighty's injury is coming on well and he will be good for the start of pre-season on July 1 but we maybe need another right-back because we don't want the situation we faced last year playing players out of position.

"Marcus Hall filled in there but he's not a right-back and Isaac Osbourne has played there on and off for the last few seasons now but, again, he is not a natural right-back and would prefer not to play there."

"Wrighty proved he can play at centre-half as well as right-back when we needed him so we want him fit and raring to go come the new season.

"We were a little bit worried when he first suffered his knee injury but it quickly settled down and with the right amount of rest and physio he is fine now and looking forward to the new season."
