City In The Top Six

Coventry City are in the top six after their 3-0 victory against Barnsley at the Ricoh Arena this afternoon.

QPR are three points clear at the top of the table after coming back to snatch a 1-1 draw at Bristol City on Friday night, whilst second placed Cardiff don't play until Monday night.

Third place Swansea beat Leicester City 2-0 with fourth placed Norwich beating Gordon Strachan-less Middlesbrough 1-0 and Watford fifth despite losing 2-0 at home to Scunthorpe.

Coventry move up to sixth in their table after taking their points tally to 21 with a 3-0 win against Barnsley which was enough to lift them above Burnley (seventh0 who lost 4-0 at home to Reading (eight).

Bristol City are still bottom whilst the other two sides in the bottom three Preston beat Crystal Palace 4-3 at Deepdale.

Portsmouth, who look to be coming out of administration after more talks today to stop them being closed down, won 2-1 at Hull City, whilst
Millwall beat Derby 2-0, Forest beat Ipswich 2-1 and Doncaster beat Sheffield United 2-0.

In League One, Gary Madine scored for Carlisle United in a 4-3 home defeat by Charlton Athletic for whom former City loanee Jonnie Jackson had given them the lead.

Shaun Jeffers was a 65th minute sub for Cheltenham Town in the 0-0 draw with Micky Adams Port Vale.
