Coventry City are interested in signing Keiran Richardson.
The club have spoken to representatives of the 32 year old who can play as a left back, winger or midfielder but it is understood that talk are at an early stage.
Richardson, born in Greenwich came through West Ham and Manchester United's youth sides before going to make 41 appearances for United.
Richardson have five years at Sunderland, making 134 appearances, and the England international who has eight caps, has also played for Fulham, Aston Villa and Cardiff City.
He is now a free agent.
