An article in the Sunday Mail and later confirmed by the club claims that both Peter Reid and Sky Sports Presenter Richard and Coventry City supporter Keys spoke to Teddy Sherringham about joining the Sky Blues.
Wages again could be a stumbling block for the striker who is wanted by Millwall whose supporters always list the former England striker as one of their heroes.
Sheringham was a revelation for the Lions under George Graham before he joined Nottingham Forest for £1.5m and then Manchester United,Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth.
Reid said "It’s no secret that I’m on the lookout for a quality striker and I’ve been looking at a number of forwards to bring in over the last few weeks. "Teddy is one of those people but negotiations are still at a fairly early stage. I think he would be a great signing but there is obviously interest from a number of other clubs and we will have to see how it progresses."
Meanwhile, City have confirmed that tickets for the Carling Cup tie against Torquay United at Highfield Road on Wednesday August 25th, will be £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
