Coventry City Ladies are one of twenty eight bidders for Womens Soccer League status.
The bidding process ends today and clubs have had to submit their bids to the Football Association to be part of the two divisions of ten league which will start in 2014 with promotion and relegation.
All the current eight WSL clubs including champions Arsenal have had to apply and The FA have said that if better bids are received then some of the current eight could lose their WSL status.
WPL National Division side Cardiff City are prevented from applying due to their Welsh status but the rest of the WPL National Division in which Coventry City, who have applied for a place in the top division, are understood to have submitted applications.
