Coventry City Ladies maintained their lead at the top of the WPL Northern Division with a 5-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers.
This was a case of top versus third with City having gone and a game which started with a minute's silence for the young Cadley FC player who died whilst playing in a game last Sunday.
Great work from Callen Barber saw City win the first corner of the game in the fifth minute and five minutes later, she fashioned a run and shot from distance.
Maz Gauntlett was a handful for the Rovers and got the ball from a Quayle pass and controlled it before slotting past Jo Hutchison into the bottom corner.
Gauntlett attacked again and in the 16th minute, she held off the Rovers defence and send a shot from 26 yards flying in the net.
With Rovers reduced to long range efforts, Dermody fired at Hutcheson and Boyle and Sheen fired at Wood at the other end.
There were six minutes of the half left when City attacked down the right and the ball was cut back for Helen Dermody to stroke home.
In the 54th minute, it was fourth when Sam Quayle raced onto a long ball and stormed forty yards before slotting past Hutcheson.
In the 59th minute, City, who had Amber Hughes and Callen Barber in superb form, were denied a goal when Maz Gauntlett fired into the net after being told to play the ball back to Blackburn by the referee. The ball went into the net but no goal was given.
City boss Craig Nicholls sent on Katie Lowder for the last half hour.
With fifteen minutes left, the Sky Blues scored a fifth thanks to Helen Dermody making a fine run and scoring from a Barber pass and City took a 5-0 win.
