Coventry City Ladies won the WPL League Cup Group 7 after the final group game was played tonight.
With City having attained seven points from wins over Sporting Club Albion and Aston Villa and a draw at Cardiff, the final group game saw Aston Villa travel to Cardiff City.
Graham Abercrombie's side lead 2-0 at the break and although Cardiff pulled a goal back in the second half, the defeat for the South Wales side was enough for Coventry City to win the group and progress to the second round which will take place on Sunday March 25th.
