Coventry City Ladies hammered MK Dons 10-0 this afternoon at Coventry Copsewood.
Craig Nicholls team were on the attack early and took the lead when Helen Dermody outstripped the defence to score.
A second followed thanks to a neat move down the right side with Nicky Miles feeding Natalie Wilcox whose cross shot was blocked but Nicole Dale was on hand to finish into empty net from short range.
In the 28th minute, it wad three when good pressure by City saw Dale square into the edge of the six yard box and some quick feet by Nikki Miles, saw her slip the ball past the keeper.
Eight minutes later, Dale and Miles combined to play in Maz Gauntlett who made it four with a shot into the bottom corner.
Four minutes before the end of an excellent first half for City, Nicole Dale conjured up a fifth goal from distance that surprised the keeper.
Gauntlett made it six early in the second half when she blasted goalwards but was denied by a great block from the visiting keeper. However,.the loose ball came back and Gauntlett nodded back over keeper and into the net.
Maz Gauntlett, now back from an injury which saw her out for thirteen months, bagged her hat-trick with a twenty yarder and this was followed by a fourth in the 56th minute when she finished off a Kate Ward cross.
That made it 8-0 to City and a ninth goal came thanks to Kim Walton arriving at the far post to meet a Dermody corner after an hour.
With seventeeen minutes to go, the Sky Blues completed the rout with a tenth goal when Jade Formaston showed good pace to get onto a through ball and neatly tap past keeper into the corner of the net.
