Coventry City Ladies are through to the Birmingham County FA Women's Cup Final for the fifth consecutive year.

Coventry City LFC travelled to Hednesford to face fellow WPL side Wolverhampton Wanderers in the semi-final of the County Cup. Despite a below par performance from the Sky Blues they booked their place in the final with a 2-0 win.

City dominated the opening exchanges of the first half and Amber Hughes rattled the bar, but the home side firmly got back in to the game as they pressed high and hassled the Coventry side. Wolves created some chances of their own but none that tested Sue Wood in the away goal. The Sky Blues created a couple of opportunities themselves but the teams went in tied with a score of 0-0 at the break.

The game continued in a similar pattern in the second half, although the Sky Blues did fashion a lot more chances. An opening goal was then scored on 55 minutes in favour of Coventry and it was Nikki Miles Who got it after a long Ashleigh Neville free kick. A second goal then came just 10 minutes later as a long ball allowed Destiney Toussaint to race clear before squaring to Helen Dermody who tapped in to make it 2-0.

From this point on the away side had plenty more chances to widen the margin, but the full time whistle blew to send Coventry City through to their fifth consecutive county cup final. The Sky Blues will face either Coventry Copsewood or Sporting Club Albion in the final, and City will be looking to retain their title.
