Coventry City Ladies made it two Womens Premier League wins out of three with a 1-0 victory at Leeds United this afternoon.
At Leeds United, the Sky Blues were ahead after four minutes when Maz Gauntlett scored following a Helen Dermody corner.
Sue Wood in the City goal made a good save at the other end in what was a tight game with both sides playing some decent football.
Sweetman-Kirk had a shot from 20 yards saved by the keeper before the half finished with City who beat Charlton 1-0 last Sunday ahead.
Sweetman-Kirk was having a fine game for Paul Cudby's side. First forcing a corner and then when Dermody's flag kick came in, her header was cleared off the line by a defender.
70th minute substitute Phillipowsky combined with Cudby's other change in Barber to go close as the Sky Blues went hunting for a second goal.
Good work from Steel and Katy Ward found Phillipowsky for another shot which had to be cleared as City picked up another three points.
City are at home to Sunderland next Sunday.
City team Wood, Steele, Ward, McKenna, Lynch, Manley, Sweetman-Kirk (Durrant 84), Simpkins, Gauntlett (Phillipowsky 70), Goulding (Barber 46) Dermody. Subs Formaston Morgan.
