Coventry City have lost their physio Michael McBride to Bristol City.
According to the CT, City's relegation was a key factor in McBride wanting a Championship club or above so he could continue his work with the Scottish national team.
Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Michael McBride who admitted he was sad to leave the club said: “I am leaving after nines years and moving to Bristol City.
“I was fortunate enough because Bristol approached Coventry for my services, which is always nice to hear, but it was important for me to stay at Championship level because there is an international break in the Championship and there isn’t in League One, so that was a big factor for me.
“I was in America with Scotland in the summer for my 80th international game and I really enjoy doing that as well as my club stuff, so working in the Championship was what I wanted to continue doing.
“I think Coventry were looking for a bit of money we’ve managed to get it done as a free transfer.
“Andy Thorn has been brilliant with me and Chris Coleman was great as well.
“I started off with Gary McAllister and Eric Black and I have to say I am sad to be leaving because I love the area and the club and it is unfortunate to see the slow, painful demise of it.
