City make Cort enquiries

Cort has managed only one appearance for the Magpies this season following knee surgery at the end of last year.

A City spokesman said: "Carl Cort is one of a number of players we have made an enquiry about.

"Gary McAllister has been quite open about bringing a striker in on loan. "
