The CT, this morning have reported that the Sky Blues will miss out on a payment due to Birmingham City's relegation. A payment was due to have been made as part of the Gary McSheffrey deal had The Blues stayed up.
Birmingham paid £2.235m up front for McSheffrey in August 2006, a sum which kept the Sky Blues out of administration and made a further payment last May when they were promoted to the Premier League.
It's not all bad news as City will make up some of the £500k payment with ticket money from 6,000 Birmingham fans when the sides meet at the Ricoh Arena next season.
