John Hartson has announced his retirement from football. The striker who played for City in the season, they were relegated from the Premiership has admitted that he is struggling to keep fit and decided to call it a day.
Hartson left West Brom last month and told the Scottish Sun: "I'm going to miss that competitive edge. "That was my weekend, terrorising centre-halves and letting off steam.
"But I'm not going to miss training and to be honest I'd lost my desire to get back into the West Brom side."
Sadly, Clive Clarke has ended his contract with Sunderland for health reasons. The defender loaned to City during Micky Adams reign, suffered a heart-attack in a League Cup tie last season playing for Leicester on loan and has not played since. The 28 year old whose father lived in Hillfields has been fitted with a pacemaker.
Former City youngster Carl Nolan is in charge of Midland Combination Premier Division side Coventry Copsewood. The former City reserve teamer has taken over from Scott Furlong and has signed a number of players including Chris Reid, the older brother of former Sky Blue Craig Reid who could be loaned out to Hereford United from Cheltenham Town.
