Former Coventry City player Yazid Mansouri has lost his job as the skipper of Algeria.
The defensive midfielder had been captain for the friendlies which included defeat to the Republic Of Ireland in Dublin but for the forthcoming World Cup matches, Antar Yahia has been given the captain's armband.
Some reports say that Mansouri had stormed out of the team's training camp after being told by coach Rabah Saadane that he was no longer good enough to play in the team's opening game.
Algeria play Slovenia tomorrow at 12.30pm, before facing England on Friday June 18th at 7.30pm and the USA on Wednesday June 23rd at 3pm.
