Robbie Keane is reported to be a target for Newcastle United. The striker fell out with manager Martin Jol after a row about the Irishman not being used as a substitute and is rumoured to be leaving Spurs at the end of the season. Keane did play for Spurs last night scoring in a 1-1 draw with West Brom.

Coventry Sphinx have signed former City Reserve team player Mark McGennis. The Northern Irish player joined Coventry's premier non-league side from Nuneaton Borough and has also played for Newry and Carlisle United since being released by the Sky Blues.

Goalkeeper John Filan has signed a two year extension to his contract at Wigan Athletic. The Australian who was unpopular during his time at Highfield Road, has found form this season to help keep the JJB Stadium based side in the higher echelons of the division.
