JIM SMITH OUSTED AT SOUTHAMPTON
Jim Smith has been dismissed as Assistant Manager at Southampton. The former Coventry assistant manager whose appointment at Highfield Road on £150,000 a year wages helped to bring the downfall of Bryan Richardson, looks to be replaced by former England Rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward. Jim Smith was not best pleased with this and said: "I've carried the can because of I'm the only football person leaving. When they say it's a cost cutting exercise and they're bringing in Clive Woodward who I'm sure will be on four times as much money as I was, it does make me more than a little disappointed.
