Two former Coventry City players were on the mark in the FA Cup Third Round tie between Liverpool and Oldham Athletic tonight.
Robbie Simpson, who has completed a move to Oldham, celebrated that by putting The Latics ahead in the 28th minute.
Another former City forward in Craig Bellamy levelled two minutes later and just before half-time, Steven Gerrard converted a penalty to give Liverpool a 2-1 lead in front of a crowd of 44,556.
Jonjo Shelvey who had been a target for Andy Thorn to take on loan, scored a third for Liverpool in the 68th minute.
Andy Carroll scored sixty seconds after coming on as a sub and Stewart Downing also scored in the dying seconds to give Liverpool a 5-1 win with both Simpson and Bellamy, playing 74th minutes.
